I organize the regional qualifier of the DMC. I'm scouting locations and headed out to the Korova last night... they had a couple DJs that I dig, and a live art show. This cat is Supher Tejas. Hopefully, we'll get to work together soon. See more of Supher

Week 2. Huh?
How is it Day 3 but Week 2?
I take photography classes at the local community college. However, I'm between semesters right now and spend some time online, looking for tips and tricks to improve my photography. I found a great website that had this assignment sheet.
53 Weekly Assignments for your 2011 Project 365
You'll see that they chose to start their weeks on Monday, so Jan. 1 and 2 were Week 1, and this is week 2. This week's assignment is "Cold."
This is South Texas. There's no snow for me to photograph; if it weren't for the rain this week, I'd probably be in flip flops.
However, the rain does give a bit of a chill in the air, so I happened to be enjoying a nice, hot cup of tea and decided it was the perfect subject for my assignment.

Who else...
starts a photo blog and then misplaces their SD card?
That would be me... sigh.
Good intentions, but I can be scatterbrained sometimes. In my defense, January 1st is the Annual Polar Bear Jump at my parents' house. Yes, I intentionally jump into ridiculously cold water as a way to greet the new year. Or more accurately, I try to jump... last year, I jumped out as quickly as I jumped in (and then paid dearly for it by giving the attendees a free show, a la Janet Jackson.) So here's the thing about that... there's a saying that whatever you do on the first day of the New Year sets the tone for the rest of the year. If that's true, I refuse to begin another year with failure.
Sigh. But it's really, really cold.
There's hot chocolate, warm Gluhwein, robes and a fire pit waiting... and a 10 year old who's been talking smack since last year's failed attempt.

I plan on making a lot of changes in my life, and I was damned determined to make it across the pool. Swim or Sink.
